This wonderful museum is located near the palaces that once Achaemenid royalties resided in. Shiraz, Iran is home to many ancient artifacts and sites. A lot of these wonderful pieces are now inside the museums in this country. Achaemenid were skilled people who knew how to form and carve marbles. One of the marble sculptures in this museum is said to belong to Xerxes I. He was the fourth king of this dynasty. This sculpture is unique in that it is made from black marble. What remains of it is still there on display along with many other artifacts. Many of them are made from natural stones such as the famous white marblesculpture from which the legs remain.

Unfortunately, many local artifacts have a home in other countries. Some would claim these pieces are part of the culture that has had them for such a long time. The debate over who owns these pieces is real. But the marble pieces in this museum are a muse to all those who see it. The Parthenon Sculptures are a set of different marble artifacts used for decoration. They used to be in the temple of Athena (the Parthenon) on the Acropolis in Athens, Greece. Due to significant damages the main site is not restorable to its former state. So, a lot of these pieces are now found in all over the world. about half of the remaining sculptures are in the British Museum.
