Cumulus Clouds Descend on the Earth

Perhaps they dream of having a marble cloud sculptor subconsciously. Karen LaMonte, the sculptor, was amused by the idea that clouds could have tons of weight. So, this discovery leads to her imagination roaming. The result was the creation of an unearthly entity here on the ground. To create this artwork, she worked with atmospheric dynamics specialists. The dynamic group at the California Institute of Technology helped her, too. They used real-life data to create a model of clouds formation. The final marble stone also has the equivalent weight of water used to make the same size cloud. So, this work is a collaboration of history-old art and new technology. Also, the word could comes from clud, aka stone. This point is what the Cloud Appreciation Society noted. So, it was nice to see the origin of the word be used to make what it is today.

Winged Victory of Samothrace, the name of the sculptor, is made of Parian marble. This marble is known to have been quarried in the classical Greek lands. The name of the island is Paros. Probably, this is where the name of this marble comes from. This stone marble is flawless and white. Thus, the ancient Greeks decided it was perfect to show a goddess with it.
